How to play Cozy Critters

  1. Place: tap an empty square to put down the critter shown under "Next".
  2. Merge: critters of the same level that touch (up, down, left, right) melt into one critter of the next level.
  3. Chain: a new critter can merge again straight away. Chains build your combo and multiply your score.
  4. Discover: every new level adds a friend to your collection book. Reach level 12 to meet the Rainbow Dragon.
  5. Grow: merges earn coins. Spend them on trees, ponds and lanterns for your own garden.

Frequently asked questions

Is Cozy Critters free?

Yes. The whole merge game, the daily puzzle, the collection and the basic garden are free, with no ads and no sign-up. An optional Premium unlock adds exclusive critters, garden themes, bonus puzzle packs and gold share cards.

Do I need an account?

No. Your progress is saved in your own browser (localStorage). Clearing site data or switching browsers starts a fresh save, and cloud save is planned for a later version.

How do I merge critters?

Tap an empty square to place the next critter. When it touches critters of the same level (up, down, left or right), they all merge into one critter of the next level on the square you tapped.

How do I reach the Rainbow Dragon?

Keep merging up the chain: Chick, Bunny, Kitten, Puppy, Piglet, Panda, Fox, Deer, Koala, Unicorn Pony, Golden Fox and finally the Rainbow Dragon at level 12. Merging three or more at once jumps two levels.

What happens when the board is full?

If every square is filled and nothing can merge, the round ends and you can start again. You get one undo per game, so think before you place.

What is the daily puzzle?

Every day everyone gets the same starting board and a goal critter. Finish it to grow your streak and earn bonus coins.

Does it work on my phone?

Yes. It is made for touch screens and also works with a mouse and keyboard. It runs in any modern browser.
